I would have to agree. I think he is by far one of the best dancers at ABT. And I do not think a smaller stature should limit the roles you get cast in. His talent and personality makes him stand out in every role he dances. Some of the taller male dancers are good partners, but as dancers they do nothing for me. I guess I will just become a subscriber to whatever company he dances for. Does anyone know what dates he will be dancing for the rest of the Met season? I have only received a partial cast list for the performances.

Joaquin De Luz is one of my favorite dancers at ABT. I heard that he was leaving the company. Does anyone have any news on him?

Tamara Barden has retired.

News through the grapevine is that ABT has narrowed it's search for an executive director down to five candidates. Does anyone have any idea who the five contenders are? Word has it that some of them are people who turned the position down after Michael Kaiser left, but are now interested in the position.

In answer to Lara's question, yes there have been some dancers at ABT who have been promoted after 10 years or so. I believe former ABT dancer Gabrielle Brown was promoted to soloist after 10 years of being in the corp. But I don't think Sascha will have to wait that long.

I had thought Sascha would have been promoted, too. I suspect that he will soon be promoted. Carlos is a wonderful dancer from South America. Did you see him this past Met Season dancing the lead in Onegin. He was incredible. I had the opportunity to meet him backstage, and I must say he is very nice as well. There were several dancers who left the company at the end of this Met season. The ones I know about are: corp members Micheal Cusamano, Johanna Snyder, and Tamara Barden. Also, soloists, John Gardner and Katerina Shelkanova.

I am a big fan of American Ballet Theatre. I have read about the turmoil within the company in recent headlines. Does anyone know anything about the shake up that is going on there?
