  1. Hello to those that love to talk about ballet. I try to see as many performances as I can that come our way here in upstate NY, and both NYC and Toronto are close enough for special events (if I didn't spend all our money on ballet training for our aspiring prima ballerina)! I look forward to reading and responding to all these interesting posts. Who wants to talk about the NYCB and Saratoga Springs? It's my FAVORITE thing to do every summer - a beautiful town and wonderful dancing to be enjoyed. We met some very nice fellow fans at our B&B who were from NYC and I hope we stay in touch to meet again and discuss the virtues of Paul Kolnik photography and NYCB dancers. They were AWESOME! What a great way to spend the 4th of July holiday. Hope to chat lots more as time goes on....
  2. With the MC garbling a multisyllable name and his voice being covered by hysterical screams and cheers... So I googled that name and found articles including photos. That's the guy! Yes, indeed, that was Jim Nowakowski - he was trained here at the Timothy Draper Center for Dance Education in Rochester, NY and was a member of the Rochester City Ballet for the past several years while attending high school. He has received a contract to dance with the corps of the Houston Ballet and is looking forward to a bright career. He is amazingly talented, yet quite humble and extremely dedicated to his art form. I am privileged to have seen him dance often, and will miss him now that he's off in Texas. He also danced with Brittany Shinay (duet Symbion) in Spoleto, Italy at that dance festival there this summer!
