Ok, not quite dance related, but I used to hate Sondheim. And one day, I listened to a Mandy Patinkin CD that included a lot of it and discovered that I liked it. The same has happened with Stravinsky. I hated the Stravinsky piece in the original Fantasia. But now I really enjoy him. Even the really weird stuff. Miss

Drosselmeyer in the PNB movie version of the Nutcracker gave me a GIANT case of the willies! We have often had small children cry during the Battlescene in Nutcracker. We did Firebird with a bug theme and Kaschai was a spider and she was REALLY scary! Miss

ok, most of the scenario involves child abuse and loneliness! It is a dark story until the end. I LOVE the strike of midnight music. It sends chills up my spine. Miss

Ok, so how tall is to tall? My not quite 14 year old son is already 5 foot 10. He did seem to mature (physically) early in many way. He lives for ballet, but how tall is too tall to expect to dance professionally? Thanks, Miss

The best part of the DVD technology......... My son can watch Angel's variation in Le Corsaire over and over and over and over without worrying about wearing out the tape! Now if ABT Now were only avalable on DVD! Miss
