  1. Hello All Christmas is coming and along with the mince pies, turkey and presents of a dubious nature, it's almost time, once again, for our end of year review and the Article19 awards, The Pilchards, to be dished out to the great and not so good in the wacky world of contemporary dance. As an addition this year we would like to hear from you, our dear readers, about your Christmas wishes and hopes for the new year. They don't have to be too serious, just let your imagination run riot, reach for the brass ring, that type of thing. We know, here in the Lab, that Article19 can seem a touch harsh but remember that we love you all dearly and want nothing more than to give you a big group hug and ruffle you hair before sending you off to have a snowball fight with your friends (oh really! Ed!) Just start you comment of with "All I want for Christmas............" and tell us who you are and what you do. Pass this message on to your colleagues, friends and students and they don't have to work in dance because we want to hear from them aswell. Every response we receive will be published and read by the masses. Deadline is 15th December and one lucky respondent will receive a brand new copy of the DVD release of iRobot starring Will Smith which is a fine film if you ask us! Send all responses to press@article19.co.uk We look forward to hearing from you. http://www.article19.co.uk/feature-alliwantforxmas.php Michelle Lefèvre Communications Article19 - Contemporary Dance Online Note: Winner of the DVD of iRobot will be chosen at random by computer selection, we will contact you via email for your postal address to send your prize if you are the winner. Winner will be notified by December 20th at the latest. We require at least 20 entries to determine a winner. (an appropriate region encoded DVD will be sent if the winner is from the USA/Australia)
  2. Hello Folks, we like to keep you up to date with what's going on Europe side so here are some new pieces on Article19. Later today we will also have a new video feature from a brand new contemporary company. Editorial: What Does It Matter? Article19 argues the case for why the arts are so important to us and to society in general and just why people who think otherwise are at best, short sighted and at worst, complete fools. http://www.article19.co.uk/editorial-whydancematter.php Feature: Capture 2 Reviews. Capture is Arts Council England’s (ACE) scheme to get more dance films out into the world. Since Article19 doesn’t do reviews we asked our friend Jordan Kinsella, a US based independent film maker and writer, to give the Capture 2 series of films the once over. http://www.article19.co.uk/feature-capturereview.php Interview: Siobhan Davies Along with Richard Alston Siobhan Davies is one of the most well established and experienced choreographers working in the UK today. She was there at the start, in the UK at least, so we had a quick word! http://www.article19.co.uk/interview-siobhandavies.php Video Feature: Full Force 'Headcase' After many recent misfires with dance performances we have been covering Article19 ventures about as far south as you can get (Portsmouth) to bring you an excerpt from "Headcase" by brand new company Full Force. http://www.article19.co.uk/feature-headcase.php We would particularly like to hear your comments on 'What Does It Matter' Thanks (PS: For our American friends, don't forget to go vote!)
