Hi - My name is Emma Rothschild and I am an alumna of Westside School of Ballet in Santa Monica. I am doing an internship with Westside during my summer break from Skidmore College. We are excited to announce that Westside Ballet reopened it’s studios this week! We are using strict protocols that comply with the CDC recommendations. This includes social distancing with studios at 25% occupancy, face mask requirements throughout the studio, temperature checks before entering, and constant sanitizing by staff. We are also lucky enough to be located in beautiful Santa Monica which gives us the opportunity to utilize an outdoor open air tent for classes. Our largest studio has an outside garage door which opens to giving dancers the luxury of fresh air.
Westside is offering three 2-week long Summer Intensives for ballet dancers ages 5-18 at any level. This program is a great way to get your young dancers moving again while working with top-tier teachers after three months of quarantine. If you live in the area, it’s worth the drive! If you are from outside the area, why not consider a family self-quarantined vacation at a local AirBnB where you can get some sunshine without sweltering temperatures?
