  1. I learned the hard way last year to select all my tickets within the allotted time and pay. Once you'll add the ticket to your cart, it is "safe".
  2. I logged in at 12:03, my number in the queue was 8 and by 12:15 I was able to purchase additional tickets. And yes, I was also charge $8 per ticket for handling.
  3. Thinking of switching to gmail. Yahoo mail didn't move them to spam. They are still in the Inbox but they won't show up when I search for them. It looks like Yahoo can't find anything more recent than May 2023 for some reason.
  4. correction. NYCB followed up and they did send notification but my Yahoo search function is buggy and won't show more recent emails. Not spam but won't show up in search. This is a yahoo mail issue.
  5. I called and this time the ticket person said subscribers will receive an email notification tomorrow "only". No advance emails were sent to subscribers.
  6. Strange, I've received zero. I recall receiving them last year. I checked, my spam folder has nothing.
  7. I called NYCB ticketing office and ask them when I will be able to buy early single tickets and Nutcracker. I purchased a Flex 6 shows and was expecting to be able to purchase additional single tickets. The ticketing person said that this coming Thursday at noon was when I can start purchasing additional single tickets, as well as, Nutcracker. She said that I should have received email notification by now. I checked my Inbox and the last email from NYCB was back in May, a reminder about the upcoming performance. Has anyone received email notification from NYCB recently regarding "anything".
  8. NYC Ballet must have conducted a study and decided that the demographic they target going will view $73 ticket to be a bargain.
  9. Also, new standard packages for next season will start at $73.
  10. It sure feels like a punishment to me. Last season I had the option to select $38 seats via Flex, this upcoming season I do not. I don't mind paying more for added flexibility. I do mind that to keep this flexibility I have to pay a markup of 73/38 = 192% from this season to next season.
  11. Too late for me. I do flex and "renew" from last year and because I chose this option I can only select tickets from $73 or higher. This is "punishing" those of us who wants the flexibility of choosing different seating options, different days. What is the point of providing flex subscriber the "option" to renew when in actuality it is nothing but to "steer" subscriber into a higher tier"? Live and learn for next year but something tells me the rules will be change yet again without notification.
  12. Those are gone. Huge jump in price
  13. Are all Nutcracker tickets sold? I tried to buy additional tickets and every date I selected had no seats available.
  14. When ballet "lovers" consider Jazz to be "woke" it is a clear sign that they want ballet to remain rooted in the 19th century, when ballet was "great". I'm sure people in the 19th century felt that music back in the 17th century was better. There are those who look forward when driving down the highway of life and those who would rather look at the rear view mirror. Imagine an alternative reality where in the 21st century the most popular form of music on the radio and on streaming sites were music from the renaissance and baroque period. Classical music is considered radical and people were not allowed to listen to classical music until they turned 21 and that type of music is rated XXX. Romantic never happened. Jazz never happened, Rock never happened. I sometimes feel ballet is like this.
  15. One can always move to a more "rational" state like Florida or Texas under enlightened leadership where performances are "free" that way you won't need to scream into a pillow case.
  16. I'll be there Saturday for Giselle. Who else is going?
  17. I have android phone. It is strange that some people's Print at Home tickets have the old good format and mine this year are different. There's work around, I can use my phone, login to my account bring up the tickets.
  18. I did received the "Print at home tickets" in a separate email shortly after I receive my order confirmation emails and they have the new, truncated format in two pages. Strange why other are getting the old, better pdf. I'll try calling them again.
  19. Has anyone spoken in person to the NYCB ticketing department? This year's Print at Home tickets is drastically different and inferior to last season (2019). Why they changed the format is a mystery but they broke something that didn't need fixing. I've called but the ticketing people replied that it isn't their job. I've tried emailing twice but have not received a response in the past two weeks. If you look at your print at home ticket, the Section is missing. You have the bar code, the Row and seat but no section. I can imagine the confusing this will cause if somebody forgot their section or knowingly try to sit at the same Row and seat but different section. This omission is pervasive. Also, why is it that this season's Print at Home ticket requires two pages to print instead of one. Does NYC Ballet want people to use more paper. My first ballet will be this Saturday but I wanted to know if this issue has been raised to management? If you compare NYCB Print at home tickets to NY City Center or Joyce, it pales in comparison. Looking at just the e-tickets, one would think that NYCB is the amateur company who hired somebody's cousin to handle all things IT.
  20. If another Mozart came into this world, would he choose classical music or would he apply his genius to some other type of music? If another Rembrandt or Picasso popped into existence now, would either of them continued on where their predecessors left off? If a genius, once in a generational dance choreographer exists right now, would this person decide to do ballet? I highly doubt that we will be fortunate enough to have the world's leading talents decide to choreograph new ballets.
