  1. The Sanguinic pas in 4T's, Hoofer in Slaughter, Swan Lake (Peter Martins). He does a lot of the Tyler Angle roles.
  2. Jovani's IG stories say that Peter Walker and Harrison Ball were promoted as well.
  3. The comments under Jovani's post seem to indicate that he got promoted. https://www.instagram.com/p/CadJu5JP4v0/
  4. Absolutely heartbroken after Tess's retirement. What a beautiful performance. I took a video of the curtain calls: https://www.instagram.com/p/CaL1IK1gxQV/
  5. I agree that Balanchine's SL is one of his more uninspired pieces, but I did enjoy watching Hyltin and Furlan last night.
  6. Apparently Legnani said later in life that she could never do "more than 24" fouettes.
  7. Did Meghan dance tonight? She's been nursing an injury, per her IG.
  8. I think Tiler's lack of flexibility was more obvious in Rubies. I associate that role with a lot of hip swinging, and Tiler did not have the flexibility to do that. The comparison with Megan and Sterling (neither of whom I associate with jelly-like flexibility either) was striking. Tiler's legs and hips were stiff.
  9. I saw it. She's GORGEOUS with never-ending legs, but as of now doesn't quite have the humor of the role. I'm sure she'll grow in it.
  10. I saw a coaching session between Suzanne Farrell and her dancers where she kept saying "Why are you smiling?" She was so stern about it.
  11. Tiler is an incredible technician but she has very little flexibility and so I think that's why she hasn't danced this role until last night. I don't think her arabesque goes much beyond 90 degrees.
  12. Adrian is dancing in Serenade and Walpurgisacht.
  13. Roman Mejia replaces Andrew Veyette in Rubies. Can't wait to see his debut!
  14. Strange, I saw many performances of Mozartiana but it wasn't till I saw Hyltin's performance that the ballet really made sense to me. Many of the more queenly performances (from Nina, Veronika Part, Maria Kowroski, Wendy Whelan) veered dangerously close to lachrymose.
  15. I disagree about Hyltin and Mozartiana. I thought she was absolutely beautiful. I can't say more because I'm reviewing the performance but I thought she was playful, graceful, and had beautiful bourrees.

She was also shorter than Joaquin de Luz, who definitely was not tall. I think she has long proportions but she's not actually tall.
  17. While I agree Gerrity is a lovely dancer, she is not tall. She's medium-height, shorter than Mearns the entire batch they just promoted minus Emma von Enck.
  18. Adrian and Devin danced the Merce role, and many of those jumps were jumps only Merce could really do.
  19. Beyond devastated about this. She's my favorite Diamond, Siren, Firebird, Adagio in Symph in C, Diva in Piano Concerto #2, Rubies Tall Girl.
  20. I am sad about this. She is my favorite NYCB principal.
  21. There was also Jacque d'Amboise and his son Christopher.
  22. There were the Kirkland sisters -- Gelsey was promoted to principal as a teen, while Johanna was not.
