  1. So again about the hotel room...if this is true, NYCB has some 'splainin to do. They should have fired him then. How does destroying a hotel room not violate the code of conduct??
  2. I could be wrong. I thought he said it in a dance video I was watching.. can't recall which one. I wonder why they don't list apprentices on the "dancers" NYCB webpage?
  3. I thought I remembered Martin's saying you could do a max of 2 years as an apprentice.
  4. Very disturbing. Citing specific ranks and relationships... I feel very bad for the women involved in this mess that might just be finding out now. *Alleged* mess.
  5. I'm curious to hear an explanation of the "culture" at NYCB. Taking into consideration that the 3 men are gone, along with Martins. Is there someone specifically that you (collectively on this thread) want to call out? It takes PEOPLE to create a culture. Are you worried about a ballet master? Donor? (The one in the lawsuit?) Board member(s)? Dancer(s)? Are audience members objectifying/flirting with dancers at donor events? What specifically, is still worrying? I'm 100% on Waterbury's side, yet I don't quite understand, practically, what else NYCB is expected to do here.
  6. Ok I see. So they really have no obligation to promote anybody to fill a qouta... they could save some $ this way, I suppose.
  7. Do they need to promote some men to principal ASAP or can the current soloists just fill in? Wondering how this works with pay- if you can expect soloists to work in a principal role while still paying a soloist wage?
  8. Thank you for clarifying that makes a little more sense. She does look very thin.
  9. I don't understand her comment about burning out "in 6 months". If she's figured out how her body works, so much so that it's now her "passion" to help other dancers... How would she help other dancers avoid burnout if she's unable to avoid it herself?
  10. I can't stand Clifford's comments on all of Kirkland's YouTube videos. "That's not how it happened- I was there!!". Really? You were in all of her conversations with Balanchine? All of their interactions? Give me a break.
  11. Honestly I wonder if she read the posts here questioning her mental health and this is her response.
  12. She is admitting she believes the men are guilty ("this behavior was carried out...allowed to fester"). She is supporting Waterbury ("my heart goes out to the women...")- the woman who is suing the company she works for! She referred to a "leaderless state", as someone mentioned, throwing the interim team under the bus. I think there's plenty there to create controversy. If it stays up with zero likes or comments from her colleagues; that says something. I'm not saying she has no support, but I highly doubt this was vetted by anyone.
  13. I guess I'm not allowed to sleep at night if I want to keep up on this thread... I was happy Bouder said something because she has always positioned herself as a leader. Often it's easy to be that leader, her posts are largerly supported, they encourage, and inspire people. This post? Difficult...very controversial...possible ramifications for her work environment. Do her colleagues agree with her? Maybe, maybe not. So for me, it's not that I was looking to her for an "answer", I was looking to her as the leader that she is. And she continues to blow me away in her strength and resolve, regardless of whether or not I always agree with her.
  14. No one said change was impossible. I said time off doesn't change ones character. You have to actually want to change, and so far none of these men have admitted any wrong doing whatsoever. Even if they did change- there are consequences to actions. No female dancer should be forced to accept them into their trust again. I don't believe suspending them goes far enough. I don't believe for a second that every NYCB dancer is ok with them returning. Not to mention none of the dancers who initially supported them have shown (public) support after the details came out.
  15. How does time off change someone's character? I think it would be rather cruel to force any of the females to dance with them again.
  16. I agree with you and I'm having a hard time understanding the other point of view. Thinking about the type of touch you described, happening on stage, makes my skin crawl. Was he treating the male dancers the same way?
  17. This is very true...there are "teenage ballerina..." headlines floating around. I believe the lawyer made a calculated decision in making this "mistake" of circulating that she was 19.
  18. Ah ok- thanks for the clarification. I don't use any i-products so I didn't realize text messages would show up on a laptop.
  19. Maybe this was already answered- how would anyone have access to text messages from the men's personal cell's? In the interview this morning she states she found out that images had been sent to 9 men on Chase's laptop. I'm assuming she found the "innaproppriate emails". How do text messages fit into this? How in the world did NYCB get access to a text to Finlay from the donor?
