  1. On the Dutch version the casting for Paquita is listed: Anna Tsygankova - Jozef Varga. I went Friday, it is a lovely programme and the pas de dix with Lezhnina is beautiful!! Have fun! Love to here how it was...
  2. I went to the program yesterday. It was the first (and last) time I saw Lezhnina. She danced the raymonda pas de dix and a modern piece from Hans van Manen The old man and me. She was amazing! At the end of the performance she got many flowers (which normally doesn't really happen in DNB), you could only she her head, while she was holding the flowers. It was a lovely performance, and I am very happy I got the chance to see Lezhnina
  3. It has been announced that Mariinsky ballet will take four works of van manen on their repertoire, five tango's, solo, variations for two couples and adagio hammerklavier. This will première in July.
  4. Both Dutch national ballet and royal ballet announched that Matthew Golding will be a principal with the royal ballet in March.
  5. Zakharova and Alexandrova have done too many broadcasts. Of course there are brillant ballerinas but there are more amazing ballerinas. Why is Obraztsova never given the opportunity to shine in a live broadcast? Lets hope for Jewels: Obraztsova and Smirnova
  6. Many performances of Het Nationale are on the internet, because they are broadcasted on Dutch television Giselle: http://www.uitzendinggemist.nl/afleveringen/1161310 (only the second part) Don Quichot: http://www.uitzendinggemist.nl/afleveringen/1027540 Cinderella: http://www.uitzendinggemist.nl/afleveringen/1316927
  7. What a lovely video portrait of Olga Smirnova!
  8. Hans van Manen made a lot of ballets. Exemples are Frank Bridge variations, Sarcasmen Solo and Trois Gnossienes. You can all find them on Youtube;) His ballets, IMO, belong to " grey area". There is never a story but there is always a interaction and/or tension
  9. Recently i watched the concert by Paris Opera Ballet of Robbins with a friend who normally doesn't like ballet. She loved it! The jokes in the ballet are very subtle. I was wondering if there are more ballets like this?
  10. Hello, I am a dutch ballet fan. In holland ballet is not very big, so to get to know more about ballet i applied to this forum. A few years ago I went with friends to the movie Black Swan. I loved the music and the story of Swan Lake, so i was interested and went to the Dutch National Ballet preforming Swan Lake. And I loved it!! Since then I have been discovering the art. I love Van Manen and lately I have been watching many performances by the Paris Opera Ballet and Bolshoi. I would love to learn more about ballet! Iris
  11. But if he has only 5% vision, it is not really posible for him to return to his job. It is like a music critic who is deaf. Of course it would be nice to see him return to his job but how can he judge dancers if he can't see them?
  12. There is a recording from it: http://ntrpodium.ntr.nl/page/dans/nieuws/786737/vier-letzte-lieder but i have heard it only works for people in Holland, so if you are from abroad, it's probably not possible to watch In Holland we call it: Vier letzte lieder, maybe you can find something if you search with title. Here's a clip:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckgGK3MAQ4k
