  1. Gold Medal winner Paul Marque of France posted a video of rehearsals for the Gala on his FB page, I don't know how to link directly to the video however. https://www.facebook.com/paul.marque
  2. https://www.facebook.com/VARNA-International-Ballet-Competition-444071619046404/?fref=ts
  3. Her death at age 86 is reported - http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/26/arts/music/marni-nixon-singer-soprano-dies-86.html?_r=0
  4. Actually when I said "credit" I was referring to the video on a FB page that I posted in the message, which shows him preparing for a performance and by which I was pretty impressed. https://www.facebook.com/LePietreRotolanti/videos/1762230337389139/ By many accounts he is said to be a good father.
  5. https://www.facebook.com/LePietreRotolanti/videos/1762230337389139/ gotta give him credit at age almost 73.
  6. Make sure that you place the marker at the beginning, as it's coming up at about 5 minutes for me and there is more at the beginning!
  7. I also wonder whether it may be a lesser known member of the company. She resembles Pamela May a bit to me, but as she retired in 1952, this might mean the photo is from the tour in 1949? In 1949, Pamela May was about 32.
  8. Except that in 1933 it would not have been the Royal Ballet. It doesn't really look that early either.
  9. In the background there is a piece of scenery etc. that's labeled "Royal Ballet". I don't think it's Beriosova and I'm sure it's not Maryon Lane, Anya Linden, Rowena Jackson - the list goes on. The photo is being sold by a dealer on line (but I'm not buying it, I'm just obsessing a little to find out who she is)... thanks everyone -
  10. It's labelled as Margot Fonteyn, but certainly doesn't look like her to me. Thanks! https://www.1stdibs.com/art/photography/black-white-photography/unknown-margot-fonteyn-legendary-ballerina-backstage-beauty/id-a_1101843/
  11. In a season like ABTs over so many weeks, evidently Macaulay is allowed to skip reviewing a ballet just because he doesn't like it?
  12. Much like 1991 with Bocca and Fracci at ages 24 and 55 - there were people who loved it emotionally.
  13. I only recall seeing Ferri once, and that was ages ago with the Royal Ballet in Mayerling. Wish I could have been there last night.
  14. Well Anna-Marie Holmes staged Swan Lake in Boston with Dudinskaya and Sergeyev and reviews were amazing, just saying...
  15. A group of friends could get together and send a larger amount comprised of smaller amounts...
