  1. It could be, but the television broadcasts in this collection were not only off the air, they were captured and then digitized from reel to reel videotape, so I'd wager they were just captured in black and white?
  2. From the Ruth Page Collection http://www.chicagofilmarchives.org/collections/index.php/Detail/Object/Show/object_id/9145
  3. i dont know if these have been posted before; they're two incidental bits of film of Dudinskaya on one of her visits to Boston in the 1990s. in the first she is telling an anecdote about Vaganova's class and in the second she is conducting a rehearsal for Sleeping Beauty.

  5. The death of Kenneth Johnson at age 89 was announced to me by a former dancing partner of his from the Ruth Page company. He had taught for many years in Pittsburgh after retiring. I don't have much more information but remember him as a particularly good partner. This film of a rehearsal begins with him in a solo. http://www.chicagofilmarchives.org/collections/index.php/Detail/Object/Show/object_id/7314

  7. The dancer in question was one George Church, who initiated the role of the Gangster on Broadway in On Your Toes in the original cast, and who was on What's My Line in 1958; he passed away in New York in 2000.
