Natalia
Emi Hariyama of Japan was a 'hit' as Odette/Odile in the Maly-Moussorgsky Ballet's 'Swan Lake' in St Petersburg...yes, *that* Emi Hariyama, who has competed in many an IBC competition. Read all about it in the last installment of my 'White Nights Diary' on this thread: http://www.balletalert.com/forum/showthrea...=&threadid=5319
mokeyrun
Hi Is she the Japanese girl recently joined the Boston Ballet?? Does anyone know?
Natalia
Indeed, monkeyrun! Prompted by your question, I just checked the Boston Ballet's website (www.bostonballet.com) & Ms. Hariyama is listed on their roster...but as a corps de ballet dancer. There's a nice portrait-photo & bio of her. She studied at both the Vaganova/Kirov and Bolshoi academies, so has long-time Russia experience. It certainly shows!! Imagine the depth of talent in Boston...even after last year's troubles. One of their corps dancers starred in 'Swan lake' at the Maly-Moussorgsky during the White Nights Festival. Someone else mentioned to me, in private e-mail, that Hariyama will compete at Jackson again this year? She's a persistent one, I'll say. I need to check the Jackson IBC site & get things moving on that forum..sorry!!
