The French drama Dancing Forever and the American documentary Black Ballerina, follow the stories of Black women who defied the odds and overcame obstacles to follow their dream of becoming classic dance professionals. There will be a Q&A after the screening of Black Ballerina. Her indomitable spirit leads her to achieve success in her adulthood as a professional dancer in America, but she must continually confront the challenges of her mixed race heritage. BLACK BALLERINA – Q&ANY PremiereSAT, Dec. 10 @8pm Black Ballerina, tells the story of several black women from different generations who fell in love with ballet. Six decades ago, while pursuing their dreams, Joan Myers Brown, Delores Browne and Raven Wilkinson confronted racism, exclusion and unequal opportunity.
