carbro Posted October 29, 2006 Share Posted October 29, 2006 I've known several dogs for whom the word "out" was a cue for tours en l'air, if you don't consider the Fifth Position close intrinsic to the step. That works for male dogs only. Female dogs prefer a version of grand plie in second. Not universally true, from the former human companion of a female dog who frequently opted for a "liberated" stance somewhere between the standard male and standard female positions. Link to comment

Oh dear. Much as I like bassets hound (and my husband loves them and collects basset-hound postcards), I'm not sure Ms Osta would find such a comparison flattering- and fortunately for her, she doesn't have basset hound legs (or jumping ability)... :-) Link to comment
