Dancers who resemble a celebrity or each other

Hmmm. I've avoided Lost, fearing addiction temptation, so with only the photo you linked to go by, I'd say the expression more than the actual face recalls Rudolf.

Do you see any resemblance between Ashley Bouder and Drew Barrymore? I see one, but I wonder whether it's more the expressions than the faces. I've been websearching for Ashley pics that capture this but haven't found any. Yet!

Viggo Mortensen looks much like Baryshnikov when younger.

Not even close.

Yes, they are.

and maybe this one a little bit, has more to be with the expression in the smile, I think:

Oh well, maybe not. I thought there was something. http://www.kultura.lv/en/persons/29/

I know another dancer who looked maybe more like Viggo when young, but no publicity here.

I agree with papeetepatrick. Viggo Mortensen always reminded me of a cross between Baryshnikov and Tristan Rogers, the actor who played Robert Scorpio on "General Hospital."

I also heard the cellist Daniel Mueller-Schott on Monday, in a joint recital with pianist Angela Hewitt. In person, he reminded me of a cross between Joshua Bell and PNB Principal Dancer Casey Herd. (In his photo, there's no resemblance to either, oddly.) In the Just the Facts section of his bio in the Vancouver Recital Society, there's an item that reads:

When people praise his good looks: "As long as they are open to the music, I don't mind."

In spite of his good looks and the praise he gets for it, he has a very modest and charming stage presence.

From the Kultur DVD of Nutcracker with Maximova and Vasiliev, when both were in their late 40s. . . .

The older Maximova (Masha): a cross between Zizi Jeanmaire and Audrey Hepburn?

I tripped across this
of a documentary on the Bolshoi, featuring a very young Maximova. In the last few seconds, she flashes a big smile. You could almost mistake her for Alina Cojocaru!

Carbro, you're right. Thanks for the link. That smile made an already quite happy day even happier.:)

Maybe we need a new thread: Ballet dancers with truly sunny personalities.

I was recently watching excerps on YouTube, one of which feautured a lovely Pas de deux, danced by former POB Etoile's Dominique Khalfouni and her husband Denys Ganio, the parents of Matthieu Ganio, one of the current Etoile's. It was amazing how much Dominique reminded me of Aurelie Dupont, (or visa versa) the style of their lyrical movement, beautiful port de bras, and musicality, was so alike. I fully realise that their training must have been in the POB Ecole, perhaps even by the same teacher, maybe Claude Bessy, but to find two Stars who look so alike is quite rare. Their likeness was not just in physical appearance, but a reflection actually in the way they dance.

If he had better posture, James Franco could pass for Federico Bonelli's less handsome brother: toothy mouth, deep-set eyes. Mind you, Bonelli has broader shoulders and more refined features, so I'm not sure he'd take the comparison as a compliment.

My sister sees a strong resemblance between Carsten Jung and Matt Damon, but again, I think the dancer wins that contest.

This may have already been said-Maria Alexandrova is a dead ringer for Sandra Bullock.

Oh wow, you're right! I did a Google search and in The Ballerina Gallery's picture of Alexandrova by Angela Taylor, she really does have a strong resemblence to actress Sandra Bullock. :pinch:

Speaking of The Ballerina Gallery, based on pictures there I'd say Angelina Jolie ought to be first choice to star in the A. Volochkova Story.
