Dale Posted June 27, 2005 Share Posted June 27, 2005 CASTING ANNOUNCED FOR FINAL TWO WEEKS OF AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE’S 2005 SPRING SEASON AT METROPOLITAN OPERA HOUSE Amanda McKerrow to Dance Final Performance with ABT on Thursday, July 14 Casting for the seventh and eighth weeks of American Ballet Theatre’s 2005 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. The Season’s performances of Kevin McKenzie’s Swan Lake will continue through July 9. The week will be highlighted by the Company debuts of Diana Vishneva as Odette-Odile on Tuesday, July 5, and Carlos Acosta as Prince Siegfried on Wednesday evening, July 6. The season will conclude with eight performances of the classic Giselle, staged by Kevin McKenzie with choreography after Jean Coralli, Jules Perrot and Marius Petipa and set to music by Adolphe Adam. Diana Vishneva will dance the title role for the first time with ABT on Tuesday, July 12, with Vladimir Malakhov as Albrecht and Veronika Part as Myrta. On Thursday, July 14, Principal Dancer Amanda McKerrow will give her final performance with American Ballet Theatre, dancing Giselle opposite Ethan Stiefel as Albrecht and Gillian Murphy as Myrta. In addition, Alessandra Ferri will celebrate her Twentieth Anniversary with ABT on Friday, July 15, dancing the role of Giselle opposite Julio Bocca as Albrecht and Veronika Part as Myrta. Countrywide Financial is the National Sponsor of American Ballet Theatre and Cole Haan is a Leading Benefactor. Graff Jewelers and Northern Trust are the 2005 Season Sponsors at The Metropolitan Opera House. ABT’s 2005 Spring Season is also made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
