dirac
The director of the upcoming movie will be Bruce Beresford. Beresford's other films include Breaker Morant (1980), Driving Miss Daisy (1989) and Black Robe (1991). Beresford is one of those fine directors whose excellent but unshowy work doesn’t get the attention it deserves; often as not his actors and pictures win prizes but his work is sometimes overlooked. Breaker Morant is one of my favorite films, Driving Miss Daisy you all know about, and Black Robe is well worth checking out, a gripping movie on an unusual subject. He also did a good adaptation of Joyce Cary’s “Mister Johnson.” Link to comment

Helene
The cast list is interesting: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1071812/fullcredits#cast Amanda Schull, who played the lead in "Center Stage", plays Elizabeth Mackey, Li's first wife, who seems to have been expunged from his official site: http://www.licunxin.com/index.htm BTW, according to his site, his name is pronounced "Lee Schwin Sing". Camilla Vergotis, who was trained in Australia and is a soloist for the Hong Kong Ballet, which is one of two featured companies in the film, plays his second wife, Mary McKendry. http://www.hkballet.com/2007/eng/aboutUs/b...a_vergotis.html Australian Ballet dancers Madeleine Eastoe and Stephen Heathcote appear to be playing themselves.
