Amy Reusch
Is this piece the only all-male-dancer piece Balanchine choreographed? Link to comment
Mel Johnson
As a single curtain-to-curtain work, I think so. There was the former second "movement" of "Variations" which was all men, but "Renard" is the only whole work exclusively for a male cast. Those costume constructions were heavy. About like the Managers in "Parade". Link to comment
Amy Reusch
Come to think of it, even though it's all-male, they're portraying animals rather than men... even talking male animals, but still animals. Link to comment
