  1. Thanks so much for your help. I am very excited to go! I have one other question I hope you might be able to help me with. I am also trying to get tickets for the school demonstrations in December, but after I went through the process of getting an online booking account I was unable to find a place to get tickets. Does this mean they are sold out or do I contact someone special. I tried to find an e-mail to write them, but only found a phone number. My French is not good, so I didn't want to call. Thanks again.
  2. I was wondering if someone might be able to help me out. There is a show listed on the POB website for Oct. 31 in the amphitheatre. However, after searching I am unclear about where this venue is. If you know any details I would greatly appreciate it. This show is listed as free, so I'm not sure if it will be difficult to get inside or if there is usually space available. Thanks again for any info!
  3. I have enjoyed watching Rachel Viselli over the years and noticed she is no longer on the roster. Did she retire or move on to another company? I did not see an official press release about her, but I may have missed it.
  4. Has there been any offical word as to where Allison Basford is going?
  5. Yes, it is Zach Hench in the documentary. I remember learning Sean Lavery's Twinkliana when I was a student at CPYB along time ago. Sean Lavery came when it was performed for one of our concerts and I was glad I got to meet him.
  6. I'm looking to purchase a copy of the music to the ballet Clavigo by Roland Petit that POB performs. So far I have been unable to find a copy by the composer Gabriel Yared. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on where I might look. I have tried amazon and some other sites, but nothing comes up. I thought perhaps there was a store that sells ballet recordings that I am not aware of. Thanks for your help.
  7. I just read the news brief that Darcey Bussell has announced her semi-retirement and will become a Principal Guest Artist next seson. I've really enjoyed following her career over the years and will be sad that she won't be dancing as much. However, I respect that she wants to spend more time with her family and that she will have more flexibility in casting. I hope to make it to London a few more times to see her dance.
  8. I am so sad to hear this news as I really enjoyed watching Jonathan Cope perform. For me he seemed like the perfect partner and a very noble dancer. I do wish that I had seen him dance with Tamara Rojo in Mayerling before he retired. However, I'm very glad that he is to remain working at the Royal as he has so much to offer. I must say that I few days ago I was on Sylvie's website looking at her performance schedule and noticed she was not dancing with Cope at all this Fall. It made me think that he had probably suffered a major injury or decided to retire. I was glad to read the official press release and see what was going.
  9. I ordered it through the Amazon UK website, the postage was a lost less than ordering it from the Royal Opera House or Dance Books.
  10. I agree that the brochure is stunnng. It was a real treat to find in the mail one evening. The company is doing a good job of promoting the dancers in a very beautiful way. I also liked the postcard they sent out with a photo from the company in Paris.
  11. I used to see Fiona's pictures when she did some modeling for bloch dancewear. Unfortunately, I never got to see her dance live, but I think she was in the La Fille Mal Gardee video that the Australian ballet put out. I don't remember the details, but I remember that I liked her dancing.
  12. I just received my copy of Sylvie Guillem's new book and all I can say is that it is huge! I mean it is very large in size and quite thick. The book has a brief written introduction on her life, available in several languages, but most of it consists of photographs of Sylvie. It includes photos of when she was young as well as pictures of her parents and grandmother. There are also pictures of flowers and other objects that are important to her. A lot of the pictures are not performance shots, but there are some. Gilles Tapie, the photographer who has been with Sylvie for a long time, does a great job showing Sylvie in many different forms. The book cost quite a bit to ship to the US, but if you enjoy photography and Sylvie, I think it is well worth it.
