Do you mean Sylvie Guillem? If so there are documentaries on her from the 80's one of which I think is called Sylvie Guillen at Work. There is a Sleeping Beauty with Sofiane Sylve.

Does anyone know if this company prefers American dancers with experience or someone who has not been employed? Is there a preference to training styles? Also do they care about ethnicity or is it more about having good technique? Have any American dancers succeeded witht he company? thank you very much to anyone who can answer my questions.

I've seen Zehr rehearsing Apollo. She looks really good like in everything else lol.

How is Maya Collins doing? I danced with her this summer and from what I saw she was really good.

I think that Simon Ball is very good. i've only seen him from the auditence once and he has a different look than the rest of the company men. Clement as Snow Queen doesn't really do it for me but she is a good dancer. I don't think that there were changes that day but I have seen the cast rehearse and theyre one of the most solid. Letecia astounds me everytime I watch her because her coda is almost always flawless and she has the hardest one in my opinion but it shows off her turning skills.

I don't think that Sara Webb goes to AB until spring because she will be performing the role in Houston as well so they might be close together. How did y'all like Ian Casady in Velocity?

Isn't Misty Copeland supposed to have a bright future there? I haven't seen her dance but from what I've heard from people who have she's supposed to be really good.

This is Richards' second season with the company and shes a beautiful dancer. A really cute Clara for Nutcracker with really good prescence and technique. She's one to watch among the young corps girls. I've seen her rehearsing the role and she looks pretty comfortable in it.

She's a gorgeous dancer and I've seen her in many roles just not Alice. She looks good in both contemporary and classical works and is still maturing as she is still young.

There are some who aren't happy and some who are thrilled. Alot of them are trying it out to see how it goes.

yea shes coming out of retirement for a season or two. i cant wait to see her. i also can't wait to see naomi glass back again. it'll be a good change.

I got the brochure also. It's gonna be a good season hopefully I'll be able to see more stuff this season.

The company will take on alot of his ballets and they have Acosta and some graduates from the Houston Ballet Academy have gone and some will be auditioning for spots for next season. Mr. Stevenson will be returning to houston to stage his Sleeping beauty next season and may return to stage others as Stanton Welch plans to keep the stevenson ballets in Houston's rep.

i really liked it even though it made me a lil bit upset b/c i dont think ill ever reach that level lol. My favorite parts were the interviews about the guys past. The dance Jose Manuel was dancing with was his cousin, who is a principal with the Nation Ballet of Cuba.

I think I have met Mathieu Ganyo from a summer program here in the states. if it is the same guy I remember him as a very nice dancer and young also. He was I think 17 when I met him. All the guys were in awe at how clean he was at such a young age.

Acosta no longer dances with Houston Ballet but has moved to follw Mr. Stevenson to Forth Worth Dallas Ballet as have 5 of his former students and maybe some of his newest students. He just did Giselle with them. I think that he will be a principal with them and have the same position that he did with Houston.
