My guess would be Romeo and Juliet (again), Manon (again- but I'm glad), Swan Lake (again), Cinderella (again), Othello (yay for something that's not "again"), Sleeping Beauty, and La Bayadere. When do they release the schedule?

I knew that his dancing would be amazing but I was most impressed with how he was as a person regarding the whole event. Many dancers could have let all the applause and attention go to their heads but instead of turning the attention inwards as something due to him he kept thanking everybody over and over again. He seemed to realize how lucky he was, saying he was greatful for the respect people had given him. On the intercom before the show (he feared he would be too emotional to give a speech afterwards- but he was forced to again anyway) he thanked every single person involved with the show, even the supers! That's what impressed me, not his dancing, but the fact that he can dance so well and still seem so appreciative of others, understanding that the performance is not just him but everyone, dancers and musicians and staff, together. I was able to most deeply experience last night because my glimpse of him (definitely not enough to truly judge him so maybe i'm wrong, but a good hint) reassured me that he was not just a great dancer but a great person.

Has anyone seen the Westchester Ballet Company's Nutcracker? I'm considering auditioning for a student role and was wondering what roles they give teenagers. Thanks

I've been touring Trinity College and the tour guides have been bragging about the great internships available with the Hartford Ballet. I don't know why they call it that since they weren't even at the college when the Hartford Ballet still existed, but I assumed they meant that there were still internships available with what had come out of Hartford Ballet, Dance Connecticut. I searched on this board and there haven't been any posts about it for over a year, and even those posts were saying how it wasn't doing very well at all, is it gone?

I used to collect them. I have (and these will be misspelled) Samantha Allen, M Ciccone, Jenny Blascine (she has a really bad signature, so I'm afraid that might be horribly wrong), Lauren Toole, Dena Abergal, Monique Meunier, Jenifer Ringer, Alexandra Ansanelli, and Maria Kowrowski. I got all of them from the dancers themselves while supering except for Maria Kowrowski, my aunt got those for me at a preschool auction (really random place). I wish I still had the opportunity to get them.

frodo dies?!?! i really hope not , cause then that just ruined the movie. besides that i'm obsessed with the characters and nothing could ruin anything legolas is in.

since age 13? how? i'm probably just confused, but most 13 year olds at SAB are just in childrens 5 or B1 at that age-not exactly ready to join a company (then again, she probably wasn't like most 13 year olds).

i missed it. . can anyone please give more details? "it was lovely" still leaves me hanging.

slightly edited (cut stuff out) letter. just in case there's anyone on here who was part of NYCB's nutcracker, they're having a reunion (cough -money making event), and I just thought i'd mention it in case anyone hadn't heard. it's easy to imagine how hard it must be contacting everyone of the 50 or so children in the nutcracker each year, from over the past 5 decades. i wouldn't want anyone, especially one who was one of those reunion types, to be left out. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of Nutcracker children out there who we cannot reach or find. i have a feeling this isn't the right place for this, but just one short question. Bobbi, you just mentioned it, and i saw someone do it the other day, for those of us who weren't paying much attention over the past few years, what IS monique meunir's (sp?) story? in reference to "I just hope her story doesn't turn out like Monique's."

can anyone tell me ( i'm probably the only person who's ever wanted to know this) which little girl/s (two casts?) are playing the role of the little girl who appears to be some sort of follower of titania (i'm sorry, i dont know this ballet at all, so perhaps i've got all the names wrong)? she stands next to titania in the begining, and then titania and oberon have a fight over her (which involves oberon picking her up, carrying her two feet, putting her down, and having her walk back to titania, several times). does anyone know who i'm talking about? if you could tell me the name/s of this girl (i mean their name in real life, not the name of the character if she even has one), i'd be much obliged (i'm quite curious). thanks.

there is probably a new topic about this somewhere, but i couldn't find it, so i'm sorry if there is. i do so like reading people's reviews to things i've actually seen for once, what are people's thoughts regarding the SAB workshop performances this weekend?

i saw last night's (May 9th) performance, and on the unlikely chance that no one else saw it, i'll say that i thought it was pretty good. There were 5 or 6 little mistakes that caught my eye (someone not holding a balance long enough, someone banging their foot into their partner on their attitude turns, etc.), but besides that i thought it was fine. one point that i really don't like in the choreography is when all the swans are coming on stage for the first time, and they have their legs in arabesque with their heads sticking out at the side near their arm in what i think a very un ballet like pose, rather ugly. adam hendrickson as jester got some chuckles from the audience, and i thought he did well. i love the little kids in it, they are adorable, but i thought the little boys in the first act ( not the boys with the jester) needed to have some more grace taught to them. when they were holding hands in a line going across the stage it looked to me rather like they were playing an odd game of tug of war, yanking each other a bit. i thought the little girls did quite well though. i can't say anything like what any of you say, but i was satisfied with Maria K's performance, i, not knowing much about artistry, felt properly moved, and the two fellows i was with (neither of whom dance) enjoyed it as well. So the general public appreciated last night's performance.

what about ballet competions though? is it a sport then?

and, may i ask, what did the radio say? did they laugh at her costume, or think she was an amazingly real looking ballerina?
