  2. Hi Sylvia Great to hear from you!!! Yeah, it truly was amazing!!! But even better is being a party guest in The Nutcracker a couple of years ago, that was just so amazing! Yes, we were allowed to watch the dancing, it was fantastic! Wow, your experience must have been really cool! And yes, I have seen Don Q televised, I thought it was breath taking, I am such a big fan of Tamara and Alina and Angel, so that was a really good one for me!! ;) I'll reply soon when I think of some more!! Hope to hear from you soon tori xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:D
  3. I hope it's o.k to post this here........ Anyway, here goes... I'm entering The Young British Dancer of the Year on Sunday, April fourteenth, and it's the heat. I was just wondering if anybody has ever antered before, and if they could tell me about the day, what I should expect, because I'm new to the competition. Thanks! Tori xxxxxx P.S Ms.Leigh- I am SO sorry if it is not appropriate to post this here, but from what I understood ( or not the case may be ) I thought it was o.k now )
  4. Hi!! Do you mean the performance that ended Sir Anthony Dowell's era as director?? If you do, then yes, I did see that, infact, the school got to stand in lines on stage, so I must have seen it because I played a tiny part in it! I loved that, as you can imagine, but I might be getting confused with standing on stage for the re-opening of the Opera House, that was amazing too!!!;) I have to agree with your choices, I love these ballets and the dancers are amazing and so beautiful to watch too!!! Even though i know it is not a full length ballet, I cannot leave out " The Concert ", it brings out the dancers characters so well, I think it's great!! If you have any more to share, I'd love to know!!!
  5. Sylvia, you've got me curious now!! What are your other top two most moving performances and who danced and why? I'd love to know!!!
  6. Vote for just one of them???? I want to vote for them all!!!! It's a real hard decision.......;)
  7. Hi Gloria, I can only agree with you. She really is a wonderful actress and an Eye Catcher. I cannot wait to see her as Juliet, I think it's something that cannot afford to be missed!!!! At my school, I know that we are all ' bedazzled ' by her!!!! She's definately one to watch!!!! xxxxx
  8. Thanks for your reply, Sylvia! I too, am completely in love with Angel!!! That makes two of us! I agree, maybe we do have to give Zeneida, it must[/i] be hard for her, being tall, but at the moment, i think she's doing pretty well!;) xxxxxxx
  9. Hi, I've seen Zeneida dance a few times now, and yes, she's beutiful and technically, almost perfect. But, I have to say that every time, I haven't come out of the theatre feeling breath-taken, like I am when I've watched Tamara Rojo or Alina Cojocaru. But, then there's Angel Corella, WOW!!!! I think he's amazing, and he just captured my spirit totally. Theres just something about him. What does everyone else think about Zeneida and Angel???? P.S I don't mean to offend anyone! If I have, sorry! xxxxxxxxxx
  10. Sometimes, some people here say " Good Luck ", others say " toi toi ", while most of the time my teachers say to me " lots of chukkas ", don't ask me what it means, we just say it!!!!!!!!! xxxxxx
  11. Wanna know what i say to your question????? I think you should just go for it!!!!! If you've got a passion for it and you love it, don't let anything stop you!!! I've done irish dancing, and i'm Welsh, so just go for it!
  12. Thanks for your replies:) BW, I hope to post many more! You're all so nice here, and I'm so glad that I found this site!! Yes, as I'm at the Royal Ballet School, we go to see the company perform quite a lot, so it's really good. The other day we even went to watch a dress rehearsal of " In the middle somewhat elevated " and various othet things. We got to see, Zeneida, Alina, Tamara, Darcey, Johnny Cope, Natasha Oughtred, Jamie Tapper, Laura Morera, gosh, theres too many people to remember, but all I can say is that it was brilliant. hope to hear from you all soon! xxxxxxxxxxxx
  13. Hi! You probably won't remember me either, but oh well, here goes. I just wanted to say Congratulations too, you must be so pleased!! Love from Victoria Johns ( white lodge ) P.S hello amy!!!!
  14. Liz's mom, I've recently seen Giselle at the ROH too. I also saw the same cast. I thought it was amazing, i think Tamara is absolutely amazing!!! Angel is gorgeous and Alina is just perfect! I really hope that some day i grow up to be like either Tamara or Alina, they are my two favourite dancers. Thanks for sharing that with us!!! xxx
