    Darcey Op

From Ananova - Darcey hit by ankle injury Darcey Bussell is to miss the remainder of the Royal Ballet's Covent Garden season because of an ankle injury. Bussell was due to star in Kenneth MacMillan's production of Romeo and Juliet at the Royal Opera House. But she will sit out the rest of the season because she requires an operation to remove bone spurs from the front of her right ankle. She will need six weeks to recuperate and hopes to rejoin the company in St Petersburg in late July for the second half of its Russian tour. In March, Bussell was forced to abandon her performance in The Sleeping Beauty because of a foot injury. Her pain was blamed on a frozen muscle but doctors have since discovered that it was exacerbated by the bone spurs. Italian dancer Alessandra Ferri will replace Bussell as Juliet.
  2. Les Misérables, the one around 1995/1996, the main female is a Principal with the POB (some lovely shots of the Opera House) and it's set around her dancing Cosette.
  3. Congratulations to Jonathan Cope who has been made a CBE in the Queen's New Year Honours List. Sylvie Guillem too, has been awarded an honorary CBE (Commander of the British Empire). Congratulations to her - a big thing to be awarded, especially as she is not originally from the UK.
  4. For me, the little video that I've seen of Fonteyn in her dying moments is wonderful. She actually becomes a woman who's tormented by her love instead of a swan and that transformation is just amazing.
  5. Good to hear, she's a lovely dancer with cracking potential.
