anoushka
There are details of BBC 2's new programme on dancers, presented by Deborah Bull, and will feature dancers from the Royal Ballet such as Marianela Nunez, and even Sir Antony Dowell! Kate B
Fantastic - looks fascinating. I've seen Deborah Bull present other TV programmes and she is very good. Must put it in my diary! Link to comment
Brendan McCarthy
The BBC website, which accompanies this series, is now up and running. It is rather handsome, to say the least of it, and contains quite a few video clips from the series, while also giving a fair impression of the science underlying the programme. The first programme is shown in the UK tonight. I would expect it in time to be shown internationally: it should 'travel well'. Link to comment
Lolly
The programme was fascinating - I especially liked the slow motion replays of the dancers, you could really see how their bodies worked. Ivan Putrov's feet in the Bluebird solo were amazing - the beats too! And Marianela Nunez in the Don Q fouettes, watching her supporting leg and foot as she did them was very enlightening. And the information about spotting was really helpful. Now I know what to aim for! I can't wait for the next programme. Link to comment
Guest Antony
I thought "The Dancer's Body" was great fun - I'd like to see more of her programmes. In my opinion she makes an very good presenter (popping up as she does once in a while, to introduce televised ballets), not to mention an excellent programme writer. Her rather tongue-in-cheek style adds a lot of colour to the programme, too. Fellow fans can find an eclectic mix of articles and links at her website, www.deborahbull.com A. Link to comment
sylvia
Ditto to all that, but what impressed me even more was that she wrote the whole series. I don't think I saw any co-writing credits on the end. Link to comment
