The University Press of Florida has recently published a new book on the extraordinary life and influence of the creator of classic modern dance, Martha Graham. "Martha Graham: The Evolution of Her Dance Theory and Training, revised edition" (June 2002) by Marian Horosko brings together new and previously published interviews of Martha Graham's "family" of dancers, teachers, choreographers, and actors and interweaves them with provocative biographical material.

We believe that this book may be of interest to everyone here at the Ballet Talk forums and invite you to check out a full sample of the text, available in our reading room. Taken from Chapter Seven, this complete sample excerpt is available in both HTML and PDF formats and gives readers a substantive preview of the book that we think dance enthusiasts and teachers alike will enjoy.

The Reading Room can be accessed at http://www.upf.com/Mkt/ and contains more information about the book, including a jacket cover image.

We believe that online discourse helps keep dance and its history alive and with this goal in mind we hope that you'll check out this sample!
