samba38
I'm eager to read views from the dance vets. Will this be the fellow who can shake sense into ABT and salvage their administrative mess? Here's a repeat of the link: ABT has a new executive director. Jennifer Dunning reports for the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2001/10/17/arts/dan...nce/17APPO.html Link to comment
Alexandra
Samba, I don't know anything about him. A presenter is quite different, and has different problems, from an executive director of a ballet company (the presenter gets the package gift-wrapped, so to speak, and doesn't have to worry about what the company goes through to perform on a tour). But he may well know that I have a soft spot for anyone who majored in dance at college. I wish him and the company all best -- they deserve some calm. Link to comment
liebs
From my days running a modern dance co. that performed at Hancher, I remember Chappell as a nice guy. But I do find it curious that ABT couldn't find anyone from NYC who was familiar with the funding and social scene in their last two searches. NYC is not Iowa. Link to comment
LMCtech
Maybe that's a good thing. It might be good to get some freshness into this rot-ridden organization. I hope he knows what he's getting into. [ 10-17-2001: Message edited by: LMCtech ] Link to comment
