California
It's at the Kennedy Center October 10-15, but no hint here that Mearns will do any of those performances. Boo-hoo... Link to comment
abatt
That time period conflicts with the NYCB season, so I doubt she will be doing it in Washington. Link to comment
mussel
NYCC run: 10/26-11/5 http://www.nycitycenter.org/tickets/productionNew.aspx?performanceNumber=10680&fullsite=true&utm_source=wordfly&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MKT17MemberAQBrig%2FRedShoes-DanceTarget&utm_content=version_A Link to comment
ABT Fan
Marcelo Gomes will also be starring in this production starting in L.A. in September, then onto D.C., Charlotte and then City Center. That explains why his name was absent from ABT's Fall season principal list. Link to comment
abatt
Gomes is splitting the role with the man who originated the role in London, so the exact dates that Gomes will perform are unclear. I hope he performs with Mearns. Edited July 10, 2017 by abatt Link to comment
canbelto
Maybe this is a minority opinion but I kind of can't see Sara in this. Sara projects so much strength onstage, and I mean this in the best way. Also has an air of womanly sophistication. I see Vicky Page being played by a real ingenue, has to seem very wet behind the ears, naive. Link to comment
Helene
Anna Netrebko, whose picture is in the dictionary next to womanly sophistication, has said she is 180 degrees from Tatiana in 'Eugene Onegin," and she is one of the greatest Tatianas around. I have a lot of faith in Ms. Mearns. Link to comment
cobweb
Well whatever, glad I have tickets to see Sara and I'm hopeful to see Marcelo too. Should be interesting if nothing else. Link to comment
angelica
I saw them both at NYCC last year, and Mearns was wonderful (as was Gomes). Completely different from her pull-out-all-the-stops portrayal of O/O. Link to comment
