Drew
Very saddened to learn of bombing in St. Petersburg subway. My best thoughts go out to the city and everyone who loves it -- (I was pleased to learn through the Mariinsky Festival thread that our own Ballet Alert visitors to the festival are safe.) cubanmiamiboy
Prayers for Petersburg. A beautiful, vibrant city that without a doubt will be able to face and confront such evil. Link to comment
MadameP
I think there will be heightened security at the Mariinsky tonight. Have to say - I am a bit apprehensive. As I understand it, most of the metro is now open again, but I won't be going anywhere near it. Edited April 5, 2017 by MadameP Link to comment
Buddy
Mariinsky seemed normal to me last night, MadameP. Thanks to everyone who has expressed to us here from Ballet Alert! their concern and best wishes for our wellbeing. Link to comment

MT2 has already got a lot of built in security that the historic MT theatre does not have to nearly the same degree, if at all - it has hidden security cameras everywhere inside the actual auditorium, and the historic theatre does not. We shall see. And yes, thank you to everyone for their good wishes. Link to comment
