NorthernDancer
Hi I'm new here and to the beauty of ballet. I started ballet late in life and it has become my life. It is, by far, the hardest thing I've ever done; and it brings more joy, by far, than anything except my children. I am lucky to live in the NYC area so we not only have NYCB and ABT but we also have the opportunity to see outstanding ballet companies like the Bolshoi, Paris Opera Ballet, Eifman, and Miami City. Very much still learning but still with that wide-eyed sense of wonder and awe at the beauty of the art Very happy to have found this corner of the cyber world. Thank you very much for letting me share your wisdom, your insights, and your love of ballet. Quote Link to comment
Drew
Welcome -- A "wide-eyed sense of wonder and awe at the beauty of the art" is a great way to describe the feelings ballet can inspire, and I think no fan ever entirely loses those feelings. I hope you write about what you are seeing. There are some pretty lively discussions once the NY ballet season is underway and a variety of opinions is always welcome.
