Pamela Moberg
Anybody watching Prix de Lausanne? Seems that half of Brazil, not to mention Far East are there. Always interesting to see what youngsters from various places can accomplish - one might catch sight of a star of tomorrow.
macnellie
I watched it to the end. The lovely prize winners were announced by number not by name! It was very "announcer"heavy. Too much talk! Edited February 10, 2017 by macnellie spelling
Jayne
I wonder if these competitions increasingly attract dancers from places that do not have many full time professional opportunities / fewer FT companies, etc. This is a way to be "seen" for those who cannot afford to attend schools like JKOS, RBS, etc. The focus seems to be massively on traditional story ballets, as royalties / stagers don't need to be paid. sandik
Prix and YAGP are very much about being seen -- they're absolutely a multi-company audition in a single event.
