volcanohunter Posted May 17, 2016 Share Posted May 17, 2016 I don't know whether any geo-blocking will be involved, but today at 7:30 pm BST (2:30 pm Eastern, 11:30 am Pacitic), the English National Ballet will live stream its Emerging Dancer competition from London. Selected by their peers, six of our most promising dancers perform in front of an eminent panel of expert judges, before one receives the 2016 Emerging Dancer Award. This year’s finalists are: Isabelle Brouwers Cesar Corrales Rina Kanehara Jeanette Kakareka Daniele Silingardi Erik Woolhouse The recipient of the People’s Choice Award, selected by members of the public will also be revealed. This year’s Emerging Dancer also sees the introduction of the Corps de Ballet Award, which recognises an exceptional Artist of the Company that has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Previous winners of the Emerging Dancer Award include Yonah Acosta (2012), who is now Principal of English National Ballet, Shiori Kase (2011), and Junor Souza (2014), who have since been promoted to First Soloist, and Jinhao Zhang (2015), recently seen performing in the lead roles of Ali and Lankendem in Le Corsaire at the London Coliseum in January this year. http://emerging-dancer.ballet.org.uk Link to comment
