sohalia
MCB is announcing their 2016-2017 season this coming Monday. They posted a preview photo on Facebook, saying that they will do 5 company premieres and one world premiere. And with this photo, it looks like they are going to do Calcium Light Night. I look forward to seeing what else they do. Link to comment

sandik
A new Ratmansky -- how exciting for them! Link to comment
Natalia
I saw Ratmansky's "Fairy's Kiss" at the Mariinsky in the late '90s with Ayupova as Bride and Lopatkina as the Fairy. Even that was, I think, a restaging of an even earlier version for RDB or some other company. This must be a new staging for Miami. Not really a "world premiere" unless one considers a restaging to be such. The Mariinsky version with Ayupova/Lopatkina was beautiful, so Miami is in for a treat. Here's a little taste of the ballet, with a very young Lopatkina. Enjoy while it lasts! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5Vs8ubWm7Gc Link to comment

cubanmiamiboy
Am I correct about this being Messmer's debut as Giselle ?(counting the very high probability of her being cast in the role...) Link to comment
Juliet
I an correct about this being Messmer's debut as Giselle ?(in the very high probability of her being cast...) Yes. She has done Myrtha (wonderfully), but not Giselle. Link to comment
sandik
Not really a "world premiere" unless one considers a restaging to be such. Unless he's making another one -- either way, lucky company! Thanks for the link! Link to comment
Kaysta
Just listened to Lauren Fadeley Veyette's podcast on A Fairy's Kiss. Ratamansky is in Miami right now, choreographing a completely new ballet, so it is a world premiere. It sounds really interesting, so I think I might try to get down to Miami to see the premiere. Here is the link to her podcast: Rediscovering the Dream-Working with Ratmansky Link to comment
Olga
Thanks for the link. Wish I was in Miami for this. Link to comment
Birdsall
By the way Program 4 no longer lists the Tharp piece. It has been replaced on the website and in new brochures with Divertimento No. 15. So Program 4 will be Divertimento No. 15, Arden Court, and Who Cares? Link to comment
