sandik
The Society of Dance History Scholars is sponsoring a conference May 20-21, 2016 on the topic of contemporary ballet. While some of the conversations will be academic in nature, there will be considerable animated discussion. It's hosted at New York University's Centger for Ballet and the Arts (Jennifer Homan's turf) and the Dance Department at Barnard College. The website lists more details, but just as a taste, the confirmed speakers include Emery Lecrone, Christine Cox of BalletX, Emily Coates, and Jill Johnson from Harvard's dance program.
