Boris Eifman plans St Petersburg ballet museum

Recommended Posts

I love the idea of a museum on ballet in THE city of ballet. Sure, the little but grand Vaganova Academy Museum exists but it is not open to the public. (I've been there only as a researcher.) It's about time that StP gets an accessible ballet museum.

As got the Balanchine statue, this is so appropriate on many levels. Eifman, after all, choreographed the only (to date) ballet about Balanchine, MUSAGETE. Whether NYCB regulars love it or not, it was very successful when performed by Eifman's own troupe & garnered the Golden Mask on the year of its Russian premiere
