Mme. Hermine
Evidently British Movietone and the Associated Press have put their archives on Youtube, and there are a lot of gems in there! I have a question for the sleuths on the board. This is a film of London Festival Ballet in the 1960s doing a small segment of Bourree Fantasque (most of the films are fairly short). The first couple we see (short tutu) is Anna-Marie and David Holmes. Anyone have an idea about the second couple? Link to comment
Mailied
No idea who the dancers are, but I was very surprised to hear romanian. The dancing looks amazing! Link to comment
sandik
Oh, and there's John Cage at the end -- turning pages! Link to comment
Mme. Hermine
A rehearsal of the Mordkin Ballet that features Patricia Bowman, Lucia Chase, Nina Stroganova, and Karen Conrad. Link to comment
Quiggin
What a great clip of early Balanchine & Cage. Charlotte Moorman playing the cello? "26 minutes, 1.1499 seconds for a string player"? A British Pathe featurette of Bouree Fantasque in Hungary 1962 on perhaps the same tour. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DhvRDK9gmuU Link to comment

jash
I believe the second couple in the LFB clip are Gaye Fulton and Desmond Kelly. I also think that LFB went to Romania in September 1963 rather than 1964, Hope this helps! Link to comment
