Frederick Franklin tribute in NY next weekend

From the Horses Mouth, a group that brings dance people together, is presenting three evenings dedicated to Franklin, featuring reminiscences, films and videos. Participants will vary from night to night, and presentations will emphasize his contributions to male dancing. GALA PERFORMANCE Friday, May 30 at 7:30pm - $95 Gala seats include VIP seating and reception.

Featuring Jacques D'Amboise, Arthur Mitchell, Charles Askegard, Martine van Hamel, Gus Solomons jr, Carmen de Lavallade, Xiomara Reyes, Marge Champion and More. Gala proceeds to include the Frederic Franklin Scholarship Fund at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (JK0) School at the American Ballet Theatre.

Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1 at 7:30pm The Men Dancers: From the Horses Mouth. These two evenings feature an All Male Tribute to Frederic Franklin.

Tina Croll and Jamie Cunningham’s From the Horse’s Mouth, reunites at the Schimmel after a special collaboration in 2012 with an all-male cast. This edition honors the late Frederic Franklin during his centenary year. Join this international cast of renowned dance artists as they share their extraordinary personal stories and reflections alongside original choreography in this one-of-a-kind theatre/dance event.
