Novelty? I've seen so much new media art with motion sensors though, that I'm a bit over it, but having said that, it could be used to create some fantastic effects and silhouettes onstage...

A bit cheesy.  What's the point of it?  Could be cute on little girls, but not so much on adults.

I've seen quite a bit of work with motion sensors -- both with light and with sound triggers.  Used thoughtfully, it's been really effective, but like any other scenic effect, it can also fall flat.
