Is anyone else going to this?  I wasn't planning on it but they've just announced the cast and it looks great so I've purchased a ticket.

Here's the info: http://www.eno.org/w...an-ballet-icons

I'm really pleased to see Alexandre Riabko & Silvia Azzoni together with Vadim Muntagirov and Daria Klimentova on the same bill - and I'm looking forward to seeing Sergei Polunin, who I haven't seen yet.  In fact, there are quite a few names there I recognize but haven't seen perform yet, so I'm very excited.

If anyone's been to the past galas, I'd be curious to hear what you made of them.

Over the years I have found that many who are announced are no shows. Sometimes the artists do mot even know they have been listed. This years gala seems to have many interesting participants so, if I were you, I would presume that several who you are looking forward to seeing will not appear and if that leaves enough then go.

Well, I've already bought a ticket, so hopefully they'll all be there :)

On her web site Svetlana Zakharova has listed her performances through May, but this gala is not among them. http://www.svetlana-...m/Calendar.html Alina Cojocaru is scheduled to dance in Onegin in Hamburg on March 8, which wouldn't necessarily preclude her appearance in London the following evening, but it's worth keeping in mind. Onegin two nights in a row, a plane trip, and a gala appearance following immediately after is a pretty heavy load. Ekaterina Krysanova and Dmitry Gudanov were also announced to appear at Manuel Legris' gala in Nantes on March 9, and as far as I know, neither can bilocate. wink1.gif http://www.francecon...s-2eme-edition/

And it said there would be dancers from NYCB .... Oh, and the Paris Opera Ballet ... There are none listed from either that I can see ... More's the pity.

Great detective work, volcanohunter!  I'll update if I find out any new information.
