Here's my review on State Ballet Berlin's gala "Malakhov & Friends - The Final".

Guest dancers were among others ABT's Julie Kent and Sascha Radetsky, Matthew Golding (Royal Ballet) Irina Perren and Marat Shemiunov (Mikhailovsky Theatre) as well as Lucia Lacarra and Marlon Dino (Bavarian State Ballet).:

Thank you so much for this, Ilona. It's a lovely review -- and there are so many photos!!!  It's sad to think of Malakhov stepping down, as a dancer as well as director of the Berlin Ballet (I first saw him one summer at Wolf Trap with some Bolshoi students; he was 18, and already a mature performer.)

Here's a somewhat elegiac German-language video about Malakhov's departure from Berlin.

I hugely admired Malahkhov with ABT and was sorry not to see him dance more--especially loved a couple of performances I saw him give with Mckerrow (Bayadere & Giselle); the two dancers had a kind of echoing purity between them. Alas, I lost any opportunity to see him when he went to Berlin and stopped appearing with ABT.
