Yes, this covers all bases. ;)

I sincerely wish I could be there for the gala, but no.

I was intrigued by the casting for the Manon PdD. Does SFB have a production of this ballet? Or is it possible they've been rehearsing for the ABT production next June at the Met? Two performances are still TBA and both Kochetkova and Kobborg have recent ties to ABT. Stay tuned, I guess!

San Francisco Ballet does not have Manon. Sarah Van Patton would be incredible in it.

It looks as though it's the Royal Ballet's Manon, and Johan Kobborg, who has danced it with Alina Cojocaru, most likely will be staging it (he has an "^" next to his name which must signify something like that). And probably staging his own Les Lutins – which is a sort of lighthearted agon of brilliant footwork.

Just came across this good background by Ismene Brown on MacMillan's Manon and what part Lynn Seymour, Antoinette Sibley and Jennifer Penney played in its creation. Manon: Shock that turned to respect

I found the gala cast list on the SFB site and there's no explanation for the ^ -- I wonder if it's just a typo! The ABT production is being staged by Julie Lincoln and Yuri Uchiumi, according to the ABT news release for the Met season. After Kobborg's tense and abrupt departure from the Royal last year, would they entrust him to stage a major MacMillan ballet for SFB? Perhaps, but this is all very interesting...

Don't they use that to indicate a guest artist? Maybe somebody just forgot to add it to the footnote.

Surely it's MacMillan's wife who has the rights to Manon.

Was anyone able to go see the gala in person? It would be great to get some first-hand comments on the proceedings.
