James Fayette, recovering from stabbing

Recommended Posts

James Fayette, former NYCB Principal Dancer and husband of NYCB Principal, Jennifer Ringer, was the victim of a man on a stabbing rampage in Riverside Park Tuesday morning. Their two-year-old son, Luke, also suffered a wound.

Luke received stitches and was released from the hospital. Jimmy, who subdued the attacker, remains hospitalized but was reported to have said, "It could have been much worse.

All best wishes to the Ringer-Fayette family and other victims for a full recovery from both the physical and the emotional wounds.

I was watching the evening news. I heard about the story so I wasn't paying much attention until I saw a photo of James Fayette {husband to current NYCB principal Jenifer Ringer} explaining he was the father protecting his two year old son when he was slashed in the chest by some craze homeless man going on a rampage stabbing three other individuals in Riverside Park on Tuesday, October First. His son Luke was also slashed in the arm but thankfully both father and son will be fine.

Here's an article from The New York Post

I agree with you KFW. They (Fayette and Ringer) have spoken to the press using their names about the incident using their names, so it's not like it's a secret private family matter now.

I guess the other schoool of thought is that since this has nothing to do w. ballet, NYCB shouldn't post anything about it. Putting up good news (engagements, weddings) is pleasant; this is pure uglinesss and evil. Also, why advertise to the out of towners who don't follow local NYC news that the UWS can be a dangerous place.

Hopefully, its being the decent thing to do will override their silence.

Yes. Isn't their slogan of the moment "we invite you into our world?" I guess everything is beautiful at the ballet.
