Vera Zorina fan mail reply

6 posts in this topic

scan of envelope, posted to York, England, from Los Angeles, Calif., plus a small glossy signed-in-the-negative photo, and a 'form' reply card to what one assumes to have been a Zorina fan's request for a photo of the dancer/actress.

all that was said by the previous owner was these items date from the mid-1940s, but as STAR SPANGLED RHYTHM, in which Zorina is pictured in the photo, dates from 1942, it's likely this was sent sometime between the movie's '42 release and the end of the war.

It's a lovely image, but I find the details in the text equally fascinating. Thanks so much for posting this!

What are/were "Imperial Coupons"? Some sort of ration card? That couldn't be, could it? Why would one ration photographs?

It isn't the photograph, it's the postage. Which is why she reminds them that British stamps don't help here.
