Staines comes with an unusual food restriction. She eats pork but not ham, her hamaphobia stemming from a summer lodging, as a student at NBS, with a local family that ate ham every night. “I don’t’ know if it was a financial issue, or if they were just addicted to ham.”
There’s no ham in the salad, just beef. And a load of sugary dressing. Everyone at the table — Staines, Bradley Powell, Annie Roper, James Lorenco, Caitlin Schooley and Jenny Cooper — is a former ballet dancer. So there’s no need to cook steamed vegetables and brown rice.
