Great news!  "A version of the exhibition originated at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum in 2010, but the National Gallery’s adaptation will include more than 50 additional pieces on loan from museums around the world, including Dansmuseet in Sweden and the National Gallery of Australia."

The National Gallery/DC's usual practice is to run a series of free lectures and films in conjunction with the big exhibitions, so keep an eye on the NGA's website for the announcement of special programs. http://www.nga.gov/programs/index.shtm

For ballet-lovers hoping to combine a visit to DC for this exhibit along with live ballet, the Kennedy Center will be hosting Ballet Across America III on June 4-9, 2013; that may be the best week to attend, although it coincides with ABT's 'Corsaire Week' at the MET.   http://www.kennedy-c...ts/?event=BNBSJ

I'm looking at organizing a group trip to DC June 5-8 to catch all 3 Dance Across America programs plus the Ballets Russes exhbition, so anyone interested, please get in touch.

California, thanks for the presser. The specific titles of films/lectures/etc are usually announced about a month before a major exhibit opens. I'd expect that we'll know specifics in late March/early April. If anything, the quarterly schedule of films will be out by April 1.

Oh dear the National Gallery in Washington and there I was hoping it was London's National Gallery, because I missed the V & A exhibition. Hmm how can I influence hubby to adding a visit to Washington on our schedule this summer........
