The sad news continues: Ravi Shankar has died at 82:

My favorite memory of him was at one of his concerts with his daughter at the new Symphony Hall.

RIP, Mr. Shankar.

Thank you, Helene, for the link to this good article about Ravi Shankar's life.
I keep forgetting that Norah Jones is also his daughter.

May he rest in peace.

WNYC has set up a "Remembering Ravi Shankar" page with links to interviews and performances taken from its archives.

Among them is a 1996 "New Sounds" performance featuring Shankar and his then 15-year old daughter Anoushka -- now a star in her own right -- and an interview from 1985.

Thanks so much for the link -- I've been rummaging through my collection here.

Thank you for the link. I had just started going through some of his works some days ago.
May he rest in peace.
