wondering about the facial hair on Prinz, i sent this photo around to a few correspondents who know the 1969 beginnings of DANCES AT A GATHERING, when Mazzo created the role "in mauve" and Prinz "in olive," and one dancer from the company at the time confirmed recalling this look on stage - i'd wondered if was a rehearsal moment.

rg, Robbins said somewhere that the boys had beards when he began the rehearsal process for Dances, and that he rather liked them.
Prinz is extremely dashing with facial hair. This photo of Mazzo reminds us of how versatile she could be.
