Hermine Posted April 11, 2012 Share Posted April 11, 2012 I recall this (boo hoo) only for what was the premiere of the Beatles song "All You Need Is Love", which is towards the end, but it is the first ever live worldwide satellite broadcast, with contributions from different countries, and it is the first time I've ever seen the entire broadcast, which was posted by the Alexandra Palace archive. I flipped through it quickly and it looks like, just before the Beatles, we have Van Cliburn and Leonard Bernstein playing a piano duet at Lincoln Center, and any number of other things, not all entertainment-related.
