a newsphoto from '67, the year of the premiere of JEWELS, with McBride in her original Karinska costume for the lead ballerina role of "Rubies."

The skirts on the Lacroix costumes for Paris Opera Ballet are closer to the original skirts than the ones on the current costumes are.

Love the photo, which strikes me as having an especially polished look to it. (Compared to most of the other NYCB photos from that period that I have seen.)
