It will begin at sunset and be performed on a stage overlooking the ravishing red rocks of the Papago Buttes. “It’s a little bit like when you are looking at a landscape,” he said. “If you are watching the Grand Canyon, you only take one section at a time. I want to make a ballet where you actually can’t get all of it in at the same time, but if you look anywhere on that stage, there will be something to see. So it’s completely insane what I am doing and definitely a huge challenge.”
17 performances are scheduled for:
Performances begin at 7:30 and last 1-1.5 hours without intermission. Food is available from 6-7:25, with tickets sold in tables of four ($45-$50) or general admission ($35-$39) at the Ballet AZ box office and through Ticketmaster.

b Andersen, Artistic Director of Ballet Arizona, has created this new and site specific work that will feature the full company of Ballet Arizona dancers in a panoramic performance on an 80 foot stage. This stage, to be used for the first time at Topia, was designed specifically for this unique environment inhabited by ancient cultures. The convergence of the balletic movement on stage, set to a backdrop of desert foliage and flaming sunset, will be breathtaking. Enjoy an alfresco dinner and toast the sunset as it ignites the red rocks. Become part of the Topia dance experience, where nature and art merge to become one! Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of art and nature as they unfold to reveal the complex beauty of the desert!
