There's an announcement on Lorena Feijoo's Facebook page that she and Vitor Luiz are expecting a baby -- congratulations to them!

There's also a link to her Facebook page to a site called "Odette's Ordeal", which hosts many dancers' blogs, explaining that this is why she won't be dancing Kitri this season.

Congrats to Lorena! I'm very happy to see that her long career is being also blessed with such beautiful gift.  Will never forget your early, amazing days as a rising star in Havana, Lore...

Wonderful news and congratulations to both.  

But, speaking from pure selfishness, I'm really going to miss Lorena this season.  She's a dancer I go out of my way to see (ransom the cats, mortgage the house, whatever it takes...) for her very personal 'take' on roles, and the gorgeous lushness of her dancing.

I second your thoughts.  I was so looking forward to her dancing Kitri in Don Quixote again, but now we'll have to wait even longer....  Also from the clips of Helgi previewing the new season, it looked like she was going to be in the new Ashley Page piece (among others).  And she will be sorely missed at tonight's gala - her pas de deux with Vitor to Talk to Her was one of the highlights last year.  But congratulations to Lorena and Vitor!!

The baby's name is Luciana:

It is with a great deal of pleasure and immense humility, we introduce to the world, Lorena and Vitor's new baby girl, Luciana. She is Lucia's cousin, Lupe's second granddaughter, and Lorna's niece.
